Have I Done Enough?

Thinking about Jesus compels us to ponder deeply of how we spend our life. Have I done what I needed to do in God’s kingdom? Have I done enough for my Savior Jesus Christ? Have I done my best in serving God. A favorite hymn quickly comes to mind while reflecting on these questions.

Have I Done My Best for Jesus?
By: E. Edwin Young

I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,
Who died upon the cruel tree?
To think of His great sacrifice at Calv'ry!
I know my Lord expects the best from me.

How many are the lost that I have lifted?
How many are the chained I've helped to free?
I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,
When He has done so much for me?

The hours that I have wasted are so many,
The hours I've spent for Christ so few;
Because of all my lack of love for Jesus,
I wonder if His heart is breaking too.

I wonder, have I cared enough for others,
Or have I let them die alone?
I might have helped a wand'rer to the Saviour,
The seed of precious Life I might have sown.

It is my prayer that every day will be a day of serving God with gladness in all the things we do. May we live in the will of God for His glory and pleasure. May we choose to obey Him and be a light to others. May we show love and care in every opportunity. May we use every opportunity to share the love of God to others. Lift up the broken and lost. Help the weak. Encourage the downhearted. Pray for one another. Serve God with our gifts.

“As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms. If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

– 1 Peter 4:10-11 (WEB)

“And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

– Colossians 3:23-24 (WEB)

Every minute is precious. Use every opportunity to serve God by lifting up people to the Lord. May we be channels of blessings that would cause our family and friends to draw nearer to God.
