Real Strength

There is nothing wrong to feeling strong on our own. It is beneficial that we have that sense of inner strength and confidence to tackle life’s challenges. But there are situations in life when we are plunged so deep in life’s adversity that not even our self-confidence can pull us up to stand. When this happens, we know for sure our own strength is not strength at all. Our own strength can be no strength at all. We can not be strong at all times in all things even with all the confidence we could muster. We need a higher strength.

When we are in God, we are strong. True strength can be seen, not in how much we can do on our own but on how much we can let go and let God! When we allow God to take the lead, we let go of the rein that ties us. We give the control to God. Then we are able to be real strong. Our strength comes from God. God says, “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10. We should allow God to uphold us and strenghten us. When we are weak, it is God who can make us strong. “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.” – Isaiah 40:29. Then we can exclaim as the Prophet Habakkuk said, “GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.” – Habakkuk 3:19. We are stronger when we are with God!
