When Doing Good is Bad

It is not in innocence that we know the bitter truth of the world. A righteous man cannot easily thrive. An upright man can end up dead. We seek goodness and justice BUT the goodness and justice according to our terms. When goodness and justice of God is put forward, we become prey to the “goodness and justice” the world wants. In truth, we have a twisted and crooked sense of justice that any time can err and can fail. If we love the kind of justice that God requires and the kind of goodness He defines, we will have less struggle in this world. Yet, oftentimes, we try to do good but we end up being “bad” to all appearances of the world. For the world never loves righteousness because this is the truth “And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.”- John 3:19. He who departs from evil and loves the truth becomes a prey. May we live in the truth and stand firm in it.
