Be Not Quick to Anger

When we fear and we have no power to change things, we easily give in to anger. Anger, in a way, enables us to cope with injustice, unfairness, and the dreary happenings in this world. And there are many things happening in the world that can put us in the place of anger and resentment. Our heart cries out, “It is just not fair!”.

Anger can be a coping mechanism to some. However, the wisest man in all of time, advised us, “Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.” – Ecclesiastes 7:9. When we are easily angered and easily offended, we are called fools. Fools are such because they do not have wisdom and they do not understand the hand of God in the affairs of man. A wise man know that whatever is happening around, God is still in control. Being angry will not change anything but it brings more bad than good. It affects our emotional and mental states. And far more than that, it does not please God. “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” – James 1:19-20.

Choose to be wise and let God reign. He knows all things and He sees all things. He is in control and He is able to do His perfect will in His chosen time. As He has said, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?” – Jeremiah 32:27.
