You Are Not Alone

When was the last time you felt alone? I am an only child, and oftentimes, in my growing years, I had no one to talk to or share what I truly felt. In my teen years, although I had some close friends, there were times when I felt alone, especially at times when I felt down. It was difficult to not have someone with whom I could talk or confide in.

The feeling of being alone, and the experience of going through a struggle without having emotional support from a friend or loved one is lonely and painful. However, this is not true when we have God in our life. God becomes our refuge (shelter or place of safety) and strength (power, toughness, or endurance).

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling.
Psalm 46 : 1-3 (WEB)

Imagine how strong and capable we can become if we rely on God! He is not  just there helping and lifting us up, but He is our place of safety, and He is our power.

God is always present to help us in our troubles. And so we will not be afraid of the difficult, and painful situations in life. What is the reason for our courage and confidence amid problems and trials? It is the presence of God and His sure help.

You are not alone. When the enemy tries to convince you that you have no one to turn to, or when your emotions win over you, resist and step in faith, declaring the truth that you are not alone because the King of kings and the Creator of the universe is with you, holding you up and sheltering you under His wings.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked. Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.
Psalm 91 : 1-10 (WEB)

Hold on tightly to God’s promise that He never leaves nor forsakes His children (Hebrews 13:5).

      1. I loved this. I am sad you were so alone but I am glad you are not alone any longer. I am so glad that you are my friend and that you introduced me to some of your friends who also became my friends. But sometimes we can be surrounded with people and still be alone for there are few people who connect with where we are and we are not where they are. Yes, it is great that we have Jesus.
