Surrendering

How is it possible to truly follow Jesus? He requires us to love him with all of our heart, soul, and mind in Matthew 22:37. That is actually giving our all to God. That means surrendering all of our life to God. The truth is that it is easier than said. Truly the question posted by our Pastor in the sunday service, why is it difficult to surrender our life to God even when we know He is Almighty and powerful, is an eye-opener. It is happening. We know how great and loving He is. Yet, a very few of us could truly and totally surrender to Him. Only when we find satisfaction and dependence on God can we have total surrender. When we know in our heart that He alone can give us fulfillment, peace, and a blessed life, that is the time that we long to give our life to Him. When His Spirit changes our being and make us long to live for Him alone; when anything else in this world is nothing more compared to the wonder of being in His presence. “For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life-is not from the Father but is from the world.”- 1 John 2:16. When the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life have no power over us even if temptations are there, that would be the time when surrender can be real. Let us pray that we can be surrendered to Him as He desires us to do. For it is only in surrendering to Him that God can work in us.
