Who Is Christ to You?

What word have you received about Christ? For some Jesus Christ is a mere man. For others, he is a prophet. For some, he has never existed but he is only a figment of imagination. To those who are called by God, whose minds and hearts are washed anew, Christ is God, the Savior of the world.

Who then is Christ to you? Knowing Christ as He truly is is a life-changing experience. I did pass through the stage of doubt and skepticism about Jesus Christ. There was once when I pondered if Jesus is truly God and what if he is not. But when I started to grow in the knowledge of the Word of God and through my personal experience, I could not deny the fact that Jesus is God. Who else could give me peace in this world but Christ alone? Who else could give me the power to forgive myself and others but Christ alone? Who could change my mind to start thinking about what is true and good but Christ alone? Who could strengthen me in times of weakness and suffering but Christ alone? Who could stay with me in my worst and my best but Christ alone? Who could answer my deepest longing in the inner thoughts of my heart, the prayers that I quietly whisper, but Christ alone? Who could help me heal from past rejections but Christ alone? How could I not believe in Christ as my God and Savior when time and time again He showed me that He is God — a loving, faithful, and gracious God! In hopeless times and difficult moments, He proved faithful that I am persuaded that only a mighty God could do what He does in my life. After all, no one could change the heart of man but God alone. And that’s what Jesus did to me.

“For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,
but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

1 Corinthians 1:21-25 (WEB)

For believers, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

When you meet troubles and experience difficult circumstances, look back to how Christ have demonstrated His power in your life. Look back to His faithfulness. Look at His great love for you. Remember all these and ponder on the greatness and might of Jesus Christ because He is God. He is the Savior.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

– John 14:6 (WEB)

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he die, yet will he live.
Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

– John 11:25-26 (WEB)
