We have a lot of needs. Every day we are confronted with different kinds of needs in every aspect of our life. They come in different forms and sizes. How do we respond to the needs that life throws at us? We could either count our troubles or count our blessings.
I am familiar with needs. This year and these days have continuously been a journey of needs – financially, physically, and mentally. Every situation of need drives me to look to God for salvation. Every need pushes me to pray. Needs remind me that I am never self-sufficient. My life and all resources I have and need come from God. My present needs help me to remember how much God had been faithful to supply my needs in the past and that He remains faithful. Through my needs, I am able to appreciate every day simple blessings. I know my troubles, but I count my blessings.
The Apostle Paul, writing to the Philippians, declared this:
“My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.“
– Philippians 4:19 (WEB)
The Apostle knew this truth from personal experience. God had always provided His needs in every situation. He stated this with conviction because he experienced God’s faithful provision in all hardships he faced. He experienced in his arduous and dangerous missions how God can fulfill every need, big or small.
Whatever need you may be facing today, be encouraged with the truth that God can supply every need you have. Sometimes some things may feel like an impossibility, like a giant, looming before us, taunting us, and making us fearful. But God is mighty and faithful. He sees our needs and He can richly bless us according to His perfect will for us.

“Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.
– Psalms 23:1-2 (WEB)
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.”
“Therefore, I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
– Matthew 6:25-26 (WEB)
See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?”
Trust God. Count your blessings! He can supply your every need.
Amen! Count your blessings indeed!
