Life For God

Clean and unclean. This opposite can be read in the Bible. When God calls us to follow Him, and we made the decision to follow Him, we are asked to live a clean life. This is the cost of following God. We need to transform ourselves from unclean to clean.

The moment we follow God with a sincere intention, God’s Spirit renews our being, because He resides in us. But each day we are expected to live according to what God requires of us.

It is a common ‘myth’ for some of those who are outside the sheep pen to think that Christians are ‘perfect”. They have this notion that Christians have the tendency to always judge what is wrong and because of this, they feel that Christians act like they are perfect people. In the end, it leads them to conclude that Christians are ‘fake’ because no one’s truly perfect.

Of course, there are so-called Christians who don’t walk their talk, because faith in Christ is a personal matter. It is a matter of the heart. However, those who could not fully understand also failed to realize that there are real Christians. They are the ones who followed Christ in truth and have committed their life and soul to Jesus as their Lord and Savior. These people, when they see something is wrong (wrong as defined by the Word of God) treats it as wrong not because they judge others but because God’s Word judges those who do wrong. Real followers of Christ recognize what is wrong because God’s Spirit is in active work in their life. They don’t do it because they are perfect. They do it because God called them to a clean life. Moreover, the Word of God judges wrongdoing of anyone. It judges the wrongdoing of Christians as much as it judges those who are not.

A clean life is a life of sanctification. God called us in sanctification.

“For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.”

– 1 Thessalonians 4:7 (WEB)

Sanctification is a process and it takes a daily walk of choosing to obey God. It is becoming more Christlike as we grow in our faith.

If you are to asses, how Christlike are you now in

  • how you think?
  • how you speak?
  • how you treat people?
  • your giving?
  • loving the unlovable?
  • serving others?
  • forgiving your enemies?
  • caring for your health?
  • sharing Jesus to others?
  • managing your time?
  • controlling your anger?
  • controlling desires of the flesh?
  • spending money?

The list could actually go on and on. Sanctification is holistic. It is not just focusing on religious activities but it focuses on every activity we do that shape our life. How we spend each day shapes our faith in God. It has a great impact on our sanctification.

It is a fact that sometimes we can lose sight of God’s will for us. It is very important that we stay in the path of righteousness by having an intentional time to meditate on the Word of God, spend time to pray to God, and to seek Him in all we do.

Let us also remember that we are new creations. We live our life by faith in Jesus Christ.

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.”

– 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB)

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.”

– Galatians 2:20 (WEB)

  1. 💜 The New Testament corrects The Old Testament EveryOne; in The Old Testament “God” is a Warmonger, in The New Testament “God” sends His “Only Son” totally ignoring His ‘Only Daughters’ there is something amiss here donch’ya THINK!!! EveryBody
