A Good Thing to Proclaim

Giving thanks to God is a good thing. Good things are things that are favorable and profitable. When something good happens, we feel happy, encouraged, and inspired. When we do good, we contribute to what is profitable for others, what is kind, and what is right.

Doing a good thing is one of the important ingredients to the recipe of a joyful spirit. We should not get weary of doing good or throw it away as our least concern.

The Bible says it is a good thing to give thanks to God (Psalm 92:1). A lifestyle of praise blesses God and blesses us too. It is profitable to us and fitting to us as God’s people.

Give thanks to God and sing praises to Him. By having an attitude of praise, we reflect the fruit of the Holy Spirit and we are continuously being transformed in our mind and heart to be grateful and joyful.

“Rejoice in Yahweh, you righteous! Praise is fitting for the upright. Give thanks to Yahweh with the lyre. Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings. Sing to him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy! For Yahweh’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of Yahweh.

– Psalms 33:1-5 (WEB)

Proclaim God’s loving kindness and faithfulness. To proclaim is to delare it openly or publicly. God’s people should not be ashamed of the name of the Lord and should be joyfully sharing to others the goodness and faithfulness of God.

Proclaim the love of God and His good works in the morning and at night (Psalms 92:2). We should have a daily habit of praise. Thanking God and praising Him are not occasional tasks. They are not obligations. They are natural outflow of a joyful heart who tasted and see the goodness of God and who could not help but proclaim His goodness. It is a daily matter. Day to day we should give thanks to God and we should proclaim God’s loving kindness and faithfulness.

When we make thanking or praising God our habit we transform our thinking into recognizing God’s faithfulness in every situation. We can face each day with joy, meaning, and hope because our minds are renewed into thinking about the goodness of God.

Proclaim God today through your thanks and praises!

“It is a good thing to give thanks to Yahweh, to sing praises to your name, Most High, to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night.”

– Psalms 92:1-2 (WEB)
