Continue your love and obedience to God to the new year. Increase it. Deepen it. New year has come and 2021 is already past but all things in 2021 were under the sovereign control of our mighty God. He brings to pass all things according to His great will and perfect love. This 2022 marks a new beginning not based on human traditions and practices for prosperity but based on God’s Word. God-culture should be our culture. Prosperity lies in living and abiding in the Lord Jesus Christ. Prosperity in God is all encompassing. It is also good because it brings with it joy and peace. So, this New Year, may our love for God be a burning fire in our heart and spirit. May we bring His Word to many and touch lives in ways God leads us to. May we continue to serve the LORD with gladness and humility. May we have more seasons of joyful obedience and victory in our faith!
Some people would like to make a new year’s resolution every new year’s eve. I do not have the statistics of how many are successful and how many are not but, I guess, the bottom line is that new year inspires us to see positive changes and new life as we start another year of our life. What could there be better way to live a better life but to live it for God alone? Resolve for positive and meaningful changes in life with Jesus Christ. A New Year with more promising and wonderful walks of faith with Jesus.
“Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to Yahweh’s law. Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart.”– Psalms 119:1-2 (WEB)
Offer up a sacrifice of praise continually. Declare 2022 as the year of the LORD by welcoming it with great thanksgiving in your heart. Walk through this new year wih a sacrifice of praise to God. Let gratitude open your eyes to every blessing He has for you and let it open more channels of praise and blessings in your life.
We give a sacrifice of praise to God through Jesus Christ our Lord who bore our reproach for us. When we seek Him with our heart and obey Him in sincerity, we are able to abide in His will and we are able to offer to God the sacrifice of praise. God does not require anymore sacrifices so we may come boldy before His presence because Jesus Christ became our sacrificial offering. But as we believed in Jesus’ name and live in faith to Him, we are to give sacrifice of praise continually because this pleases God.
A sacrifice of praise is a thanksgiving, a worship, and an adoration of God’s glory, of God’s goodness, of God’s faithfulness, and all that He is and what He has done, is doing, and will be doing. It is a sacrifice of praise because you praise God even when times are difficult and painful. You praise God even when you are suffering. You don’t praise God because you suffer or you are in difficulty. You praise God because whatever the circumstance may be, He remains faithful and good and loving. He remains the same. God is the same God yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
“Through him, then, let’s offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which proclaim allegiance to his name. But don’t forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleases.”– Hebrews 13:15-16 (WEB)
The sacrifice of praise are the fruit of the lips which proclaim allegiance to His name. Jesus said for the mouth speaks what the heart is full of (Matthew 12:34). When the heart is God’s residence, the lips praise His name. It overflows. It speaks of His goodness. It tells of God’s faithfulness. It sings of His love. It praises God. Above all, it proclaims “allegiance to His name”. This new year, let it be so, declare, proclaim, and walk in it that you belong to Jesus Christ the LORD.
God also calls the sacrifices of “doing good and sharing”. The first is a sacrifice of praise to His name and the second is the sacrifice of sharing to others. How wonderful and amazing that in everything God shows to us His ultimate will for us, that is, to love God and to love people.
Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this. ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’– Matthew 22:36-39 (WEB)
When you offer a sacrifice of praise you express your love to God through the storms of life and even when life is clear and peaceful. When you do good and share to others, you express love to fellowmen. These two abide with the greatest commandment of God. These are the kind of sacrifices that please God.
May your new year be a season of blessings from God as you walk in obedience to the Lord and choose to live by faith in Jesus and not by sight. May your lips bring a sacrifice of praise. May your life share the goodness and love of God to others.
