Give Thanks (A Poem)

I give thanks to the Lord
For every breath I take
For this life He gave
For every moment I wake.

I give thanks to the Lord
For my eyes that could see
For His splendor and majesty
For all creations’ beauty.

I give thanks to the Lord
For all I taste and feel,
For the blessing of will,
For His grace so real.

I give thanks to the Lord
For every morning and night
For enabling me to do right
For the courage to fight.

I give thanks to the Lord
For every time and season
For every pain and lesson
For a life with vision.

I give thanks to the Lord
For all people in my life
For their love by my side
For their care and guide.

I give thanks to the Lord
For every hour of the day
For all that come my way
For every answer when I pray.

I give thanks to the Lord
For all the gifts He gave
For such as me He saved
For all blessings in wave.

I give thanks to the Lord
For all of these and more
For His peace so sure
For His presence forevermore.

  1. Well done, Deborah! I love that verse about thanking God for every time and season. Not easy to do in a time of trouble, but highly beneficial nonetheless. God knew what he was doing when he inspired Paul to write, “Give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

    1. Thank you, Nancy. It was a long process for me to reach the point when finally I could say thank you Lord for some troubles I experience but even this I know it comes from the Lord and not from my own self. Thank you for sharing.❤️ God bless you..
