The Boasting That Pleases God

What is that thing in your life that you can boast about? Because no matter what you think, there is still that one thing which you can boast about. Oftentimes, the world flaunts what it highly boasts about. Usually these come in the form of wealth, power, and lofty knoweldge. The more of wealth, power, and knowledge, the greater the glory this world offers. “But God said, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.’”Jeremiah 9:23-24.

What should you boast about? There is a boasting which pleases the Lord. If you must boast, then boast in the Lord! “so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.’”- 1 Corinthians 1:31. This is the boasting that pleases God. That you boast in knowing and understanding His ways. Because you believe and follow the God of love, justice, and righteousness, you show the very same attributes existing, alive, and at work in your life too. Being loving, just, and righteous! These are the boasting that God delights in. Riches and might should never take precedence for to do that is to choose the way of the world and not the way of God. For the world’s way is always contrary to God’s way. “For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life-is not from the Father but is from the world.” – 1 John 2:16. If you are tempted to boast in your earthly treasure, do not give in to that. Boasting in such things is like a drum full of water but with holes in it. But when you boast of God and His righteousness, you share to others the truth of God’s goodness and love! Let your boasting be pleasing to God! Boast in the Lord!
