Living for God in All Seasons

You do not choose a favorable season to obey God. Living for God and sharing to others about Him become a lifestyle for a person who has given his life to Jesus. Christianity is a day to day obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not a result of a hyped emotion or a good mood today and you will forget about it tomorrow when you do not feel like it. It is not an infatuation where you rest on your feelings. When the feeling is gone, your obedience disappears too. No, living for God is loving Him and obeying Him all the days of your life. This is an important principle that a follower of Jesus should always remember because the time at hand is evil. “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.” -Ephesians 5:15-16.

Make the most of every opporuntity. If you are sober-minded and you walk in the Lord faithfully, it is starkly clear to you that the ways of the world is never consonant to the way of God. There are many things being upheld by society and even being taught in schools that run contrary to what the Word of God is teaching. Christians are to be making the best use of their time. “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” -Ephesians 5:15-17. As a follower of Jesus, while you still have the time now, preach the Word of God, share it to others, teach it to your family and friends, and walk in it. Soon, there will be a time when people will hate the Bible for what it teaches. Worst scenario is when society will not even allow people to read it. So Christians are asked to, “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” -2 Timothy 4:2-5. Christians are to acknowledge that the days are evil. Evil is around and you need to be able to discern which is evil and which is not. You can do that by seeking the will of God through His Word. When you seek God’s will and abide in His Word, you have the discernment which things come from God and which come from the evil one. Nowadays, more and more people long for teachings that satisfy their flesh and carnal desires regardless whether they are teachings of truth from God or not. As long as it brings them pleasure to live, they call it humane, loving, and good! But good and righteousness should only be according to what God is instructing in His Word. God’s Word, the Bible, is the ultimate guide and basis for what is good and right. For none us is good. All of us have fallen away. Any good we try to perceive and create by ourselves will be faulty. Only God is good and perfect. Who can teach us what is good and right, then? Only He who is good and righteous! God, the Lord Jesus!
